Our expertise in Dermatology has led to the development of several leading prescription and OTC brands for the management of eczema and psoriasis as well as treatments for spots, warts/verruca’s, pain and many other conditions.
The Business Development Executive plays a strategic role in identifying and progressing both in-licensing and out-licensing opportunities across a diverse portfolio of medicines, medical devices, and cosmetics. This part-time position requires an experienced, confident, self-directed, and commercially persuasive individual capable of influencing cross-functional teams and driving projects forward.
The role involves assessing external opportunities, preparing internal business cases, and proactively engaging with both internal departments and external partners. A strong ability to communicate, negotiate, and challenge internal and external assumptions is essential.
Key responsibilities:
In-licencing Opportunity Identification & Evaluation
- Proactively identify, assess, and prioritise in-licensing opportunities that align with NPD and commercial portfolio strategy and growth targets.
- Generate opportunity assessments, including:
- Market size and dynamics
- Competitive landscape
- Formulation assessment
- Regulatory pathway
- Product claims and positioning
- Manufacturing and supply chain implications
- Intellectual property or exclusivity status
- Identify risks that could affect feasibility, timelines, or profitability
Out-Licensing Activities
- Understand formulations and their USPs, analyse the current product portfolio to identify products suitable for out-licensing
- In collaboration with marketing, identify and approach potential licensing partners in target territories or therapeutic categories.
- Generate out-licensing opportunity packs, including product profiles, claim support and regulatory status.
- Support internal departments in responding to technical, quality, or regulatory due diligence from external parties.
Internal Stakeholder Engagement
- Drive licensing initiatives internally, ensuring projects maintain momentum
- Influence Marketing to evaluate the above commercial opportunities, providing clear rationale and data where needed.
- Work collaboratively with Regulatory Affairs to assess regulatory risks.
- Coordinate with Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance colleagues to ensure operational feasibility and financial viability.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- University degree, preferably in Pharmacy
- Business development experience
- Strong knowledge of regulatory landscape
- Strong organisational skills
- High degree of accuracy with a keen eye for detail.

- Ability to influence others to manage tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
