How we do it
Our teams bring together scientists, pharmacists, clinicians, regulatory specialists, supply chain experts and marketers, among others, to progress ideas from early concept through to launch – launching innovative new brands and line extensions year after year.
As an integrated business, we often complete key development activities in-house—from our laboratories in Hitchin and Kempston, through pilot production to full-scale manufacture at Aeropak in Great Yarmouth.
Innovation sits at the heart of our work, whether through new formulations, improved delivery, novel applications or updated treatment regimens.
Areas of expertise
We have particular depth in dermatology and skin health, alongside expertise in other everyday healthcare needs.
Dry and inflammatory skin conditions (including eczema, psoriasis and ichthyosis)
- Effective emollients with formulations and formats tailored to patient needs
- Anti-inflammatory emollients designed to help reduce reliance on topical steroids
- Antimicrobial emollients designed to help reduce itch and secondary infection
Verrucas and warts
Adhesive and flexible wart treatments that can be applied with accuracy, helping to eliminate warts and verrucas and reduce the risk of the virus spreading
Acne
Gels with active Vitamin B3 for anti-inflammatory treatment of mild to moderate acne
Topical pain relief
Proprietary transdermal gel technology delivers ibuprofen through the skin to provide fast, effective pain relief without the need for pills, thereby minimising the risk of systemic side-effects
Excessive ear wax
Special formulation of effective cerumenolytic to remove excess or impacted earwax, which may avoid the need for syringing or, where necessary, make it easier
Collaboration
We collaborate with universities, CROs, hospitals, clinicians and specialist laboratories. We’re always interested in partnerships that can strengthen evidence, accelerate development or unlock new technologies, formulations and delivery formats.
Types of research
The Diomed Group does not test on animals, but undertakes significant amounts of research during development which involves working with our in-house research team and our research partners in the UK and in Europe.
Innovation beyond formulation
Innovation isn’t limited to formulation. We also develop packaging and delivery solutions designed to improve usability, dosing accuracy and patient acceptability.
