Laboratory Systems Project Manager

An opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Systems Project Manager to manage Laboratory Systems within the Diomed Group. The role will be required to implement lab systems projects and provide the required direction and support to the laboratory systems functions. The role has responsibility for the Laboratory Systems Helpdesk which monitors requests for support and issues across multiple, varied laboratory software packages. The role is based at Gosmore but requires a presence at Great Yarmouth and Kempston sites on an ad hoc basis.

The role will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Line Management of the Laboratory Systems Team.
  • Management of the Laboratory Helpdesk functions covering all Diomed Group sites.
  • Planning, managing, and delivering laboratory systems projects for new software solutions and update/upgrades of existing software.
  • Establishing a strategic plan for project priorities on a continuous basis working closely with systems and laboratory management.
  • Facilitating and overseeing the computer systems validation of laboratory systems on a continuous basis.
  • Acting as the primary contact for major laboratory software suppliers, managing relationships, and supplier performance, in line with defined company processes.
  • Ensuring the validated state of all laboratory systems is maintained through controlled, documented, and validated changes as appropriate.
  • Performing business analysis of laboratory software related processes to offer efficiencies and improved data integrity.
  • Providing training in new/updated processes across all business levels.

 

Key Attributes/Skills:

  • Significant experience working in/with GMP Laboratory environments.
  • Ability to strategically develop the Laboratory Systems function within Diomed Group.
  • In depth experience of working with LIMS (ideally Labware) and CDS systems
  • Ability to successfully manage multi-disciplinary projects to deliver business benefit.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with and influence staff at all levels of the business.
  • Ability to take decisions, to analyse information and devise solutions to issues identified in often complex business processes.
  • An understanding and experience of Computer Systems Validation would be beneficial.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience of leading and managing teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
